Desperate McCain Campaign Spewing Hatred

Questionable Ties

Once John McCain's campaign made the decision to "turn the page" after admitting that continuing discussions on the economy would result in his losing the election, the decision was made to attack Barack Obama personally, and spew hatred and guilt by association. McCain's main target was Bill Ayers. John McCain has his own list of questionable associates including:

Jim Hensley, Convicted Felon
G. Gordon Liddy, Convicted Felon
Charles Keating, Convicted Felon

JOHN MCCAIN'S MANY QUESTIONABLE ASSOCIATES

McCain & the U.S. Council for World Freedom

When Ronald Reagan funded the right-wing Contra rebels to attempt to overthrow Nicaragua's Sandinista government by selling arms to Iran, the U.S. Council for World Freedom was founded by retired General John Singlaub, as the U.S. branch of the World Anti-Communist League, an ultra-conservative group that billed itself as a supporter of "pro-Democratic resistance movements fighting communist totalitarianism" but was accused of harboring right-wing extremists, racists and anti-Semites. As a freshman congressman in the early 1980s, McCain served on the board of the US Council for World Freedom, which helped the Contras.

McCain claims to have resigned from the council in 1984 when he became aware of the allegations but did not have his name removed from its letterhead until two years later in the wake of the Iran-Contra scandal. In October 1986, McCain told Phoenix's New Times newspaper that he agreed to join the group's advisory board because "they're for freedom and they've got some good people involved".
