Thank You, Michael Phelps

Olympic Champion Michael Phelps (click to read article)

I wanted to be among the first to congratulate Michael Phelps on his choice of substances to relax himself. He could have chosen to drink alcohol and stumble around like a drunken sailor and everyone would say, "That's OK, beer is an American tradition", He could have chosen to "look cool" and chomp on a cigar, or he could have chosen the good old baseball standard, chewing tobacco. All of those disgusting alternatives are acceptable in our hypocritical society.

Here are a few facts: There are an estimated 15-20 million pot smokers in the United States. Marijuana is the #1 crop in California. Nobody has OD'd on marijuana. You would have to consume 40,000 times as much marijuana as you needed to get stoned. In contrast, the ratio for alcohol varies between 1 to 4 and 1 to 10. It is easy to see how more than 5,000 people die from alcohol overdoses every year, and no one EVER dies of marijuana overdoses. Smoked tobacco, with a 90% addiction rate, is the most addictive of all drugs while marijuana is less addictive than caffeine.

It is not only human nature, but the nature of virtually every animal on this earth to seek out alternative means of pleasure, the ultimate high. Our parents had "highballs" after work, now millions relax with a bong. We should criticize Michael Phelps for responding to a need to relax that all humans possess, and making the SAFEST choice? I don't think so.

So who is criticizing him besides our sensationalistic media? The left? No way! The right? The problem with the paranoid right is that they associate marijuana usage with left-wing politics. If they would simply look back at the true hero of the right, William F. Buckley, here is one of his memorable quotes:
Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could.
Who, then, is upset at Michael Phelps? The Religious RIght? I called a friend who perceives himself as being several floors above me in the road to Heaven. I asked him for a biblical perspective on marijuana and he said he'd do the research and call me back tomorrow. His response shocked me and I'm pretty un-shockable. Here it is:
At 1 Timothy 4:4., we are commanded to appreciate and to use all of God's creations as long as it is received with thanks. Also, Cannabis Hemp is one of the many blessings that God gave to man as stated at Genesis 1:11 and Genesis 1:29. (This is starting to get interesting).

At Exodus 30:22-25, God gives the recipe to Moses for holy anointing oil.
One of the key ingredients of this oil is cannabis hemp. The Hebrew word Keneh-bosem is mistranslated as sweet calamus, aromatic cane or sweet cane. Evidently, the bible translators are trying to hide the fact that this is really marijuana.

"
The holy anointing oil, as described in the original Hebrew version of the recipe in Exodus, contained over six pounds of keneh-bosum - a substance identified by respected etymology, linguists, anthropologists, botanists and other researchers as cannabis extracted into about six quarts of olive oil along with a variety of other fragrant herbs. The ancient annointed ones were literally drenched in this potent mixture."- Chris Bennet

At Isaiah 10:27, it shows that the devils control can be broken with the holy anointing oil. Even Jesus returns in a cloud of smoke, because at Luke 21:27, it states that Jesus is coming in a cloud with power and glory. In the New Testament, this same oil was used to anoint Jesus before his crucifiction at Matthew 26:7-12, Mark 14:3-9, Luke 7:37-38, Mark 7:46, John 11:2 and John 12:3-5 shows that Jesus was covered with it from head to toe.

"
In 1860 the Ohio State Medical Society concurred with Biblical scholars that 'the gall and vinegar or myrrhed wine offered to our saviour immediately before his crucifixion was a preparation of Indian hemp" - Chris Bennet- Green Gold

This same oil was used by the Disciples to heal the sick and to cast out demons at James 5:14, Mark 6:13 and Luke 10:34. Furthermore; the word "
Christ" means "the anointed one" and the word "Christians" means "those who are anointed with holy anointing oil". How could a person possibly call themselves a Christian if they reject the holy anointing oil?

"
If cannabis was one of the main ingredients of the ancient Christian anointing oil, as history indicates, and receiving this oil is what made Jesus the Christ and his followers Christians, then persecuting those who use cannabis could be considered anti-Christ."

Well, that about does it. It can't be the Christians who are criticizing Phelps. They have work to do. The Devil has succeeded in removing a plant from this earth placed there by the Creator for the benefit of all, (At Revelations 22:2, it states that the leaves from the Tree of Life will cure the nations. This is the same tree that is talked about in Genesis 3:22; that if you partake of this tree, that the devils control will be lifted from you and can lead you in the direction of everlasting life. ) and removed by DuPont and Hearst to protect their corporate interests in the fields of petrochemicals, paper, textiles, automobiles, biofuels, farming, etc. It is now the job of all Christians to fight the forces of the Devil for at the very least, the legalization of hemp and decriminalization of marijuana.

As my old friend, Jerry, used to say, "
What a Long Strange Trip it's Been"!

  1. Wow! What an admission coming from our born again friends! The laws of men and those of God contrast widely on marijuana. As a naturally occurring plant, marijuana contains so many beneficial properties that it could only come from a kind and loving God.

Obviously, cannabis has a wide range of medical benefits. More than 15 states have passed laws allowing the medical use of marijuana. The Obama administration has said they'd make no effort to intervene in the distribution of M.M..

Cannabis sativa's benefits to cancer patients are considerable. They include pain reduction, appetite stimulation, and anti-nausea. Also people with conditions like Multiple Sclerosis and glaucoma swear by cannabis' effectiveness. Big Pharma could lose billions if cheaper marijuana is made available.

In its modern definition, hemp is an industrial equivalent with trace THC and zero psychotropic qualities. It requires no fertilizer to grow, and provides hemp seed oil--an excellent substitute for petroleum-based products. Hemp also contains a perfect balance of Omega 3s and 6s.

See norml.org for more on the legality of hemp and marijuana prohibition, causing over 700,000 Americans to be jailed each year. An excellent story on marijuana's medical benefits is Rick Simpson's story, Run from the Cure, available on youtube.
