Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies.

In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera: “All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part … in Iraq [and] Afghanistan.”

Cossiga was elected president of the Italian Senate in July 1983 before winning a landslide election to become president of the country in 1985, and he remained until 1992. Cossiga’s tendency to be outspoken upset the Italian political establishment, and he was forced to resign after revealing the existence of, and his part in setting up, Operation Gladio. This was a rogue intelligence network under NATO auspices that carried out bombings across Europe in the 1960s, 1970s and ’80s. Gladio’s specialty was to carry out what they termed “false flag” operations—terror attacks that were blamed on their domestic and geopolitical opposition. In March 2001, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony, “You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force … the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.”

Cossiga first expressed his doubts about 9-11 in 2001, and is quoted by 9-11 researcher Webster Tarpley saying “The mastermind of the attack must have been a sophisticated mind, provided with ample means not only to recruit fanatic kamikazes, but also highly specialized personnel. I add one thing: it could not be accomplished without infiltrations in the radar and flight security personnel.” (We know that Dick Cheney was at the controls running his "war games".)

Coming from a widely respected former head of state, Cossiga’s assertion that the 9-11 attacks were an inside job and that this is common knowledge among global intelligence agencies is illuminating. It is one more eye-opening confirmation that has not been mentioned by America’s propaganda machine in print or on TV. Nevertheless, because of his experience and status in the world, Cossiga cannot be discounted as a crackpot.

It is time that a new independent commission was formed to expose the truth. Our recommendation is a simple one. We know that the conservative French newspaper, Le Figaro, reported at the time that Osama bin Laden was in a US Army Hospital in Dubai undergoing treatment for his failing kidneys about six weeks before the 9/11 attacks. He was visited during his stay by a CIA officer who not only did not arrest the wanted "terrorist", but returned to Washington. The current CIA director needs to find out who that operative was and to whom he reported upon his return to Washington. It's a place to start.

Obama Video Reaches Out to the People of Iran

President Obama released a special video message for all those celebrating Nowruz. Translated "New Day," Nowruz marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of the New Year for millions in Iran and other communities around the world. This year, the President wanted to send a special message to the people and government of Iran on Nowruz, acknowledging the strain in our relations over the last few decades. "But at this holiday we are reminded of the common humanity that binds us together," he says.

After committing his administration to a future of honest and respectful diplomacy, he continues on to address Iran's leaders directly: "You, too, have a choice. The United States wants the Islamic Republic of Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations. You have that right -- but it comes with real responsibilities, and that place cannot be reached through terror or arms, but rather through peaceful actions that demonstrate the true greatness of the Iranian people and civilization. And the measure of that greatness is not the capacity to destroy, it is your demonstrated ability to build and create."

Judge Approves Navy Spraying Banned Chemicals in Eyes of Recruits

Pepper spray is banned for use in war by Article I.5 of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

The "spray may contain water, alcohols, or organic solvents as liquid carriers; and nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or halogenated hydrocarbons (such as Freon, tetrachloroethylene, and methylene chloride) as propellants to discharge the canister contents," the North Carolina Medical journal wrote in a study. "Inhalation of high doses of some of these chemicals can produce adverse cardiac, respiratory, and neurologic effects, including arrhythmias and sudden death."

But that doesn't stop our Navy from spraying it in the eyes of recruits for "training purposes" and it didn't stop Judge Richard Leon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia from deciding that he wasn't in a position to overrule the Navy's decision to continue the practice. He ruled on Friday that the Navy can spray recruits in the eyes with pepper spray, even though it has been linked to death and is banned during warfare by international law.

“The use of direct-impact [pepper] spray indisputably risks injury, but the agency decided that this risk was offset by the benefits of training,” Leon wrote. “Plaintiffs allegation that the action was ‘clearly not the product of reasoned thought,’ is little more than a legal conclusion and provides insufficient support for its claim that the agency decision was arbitrary and capricious.”

The decision, revealed by the blog of Legal Times, is in response to a case brought by naval officers, who argued that the practice of "subjecting trainees to a direct shot of pepper spray was dangerous and deprived them of their constitutional rights to due process and equal protection. They said the Navy could rely on less intense training methods, such as smearing a small amount of the spray on the skin beneath the eyes, or forcing trainees to walk through a room that had previously been sprayed."

According to the American Civil Liberties Union, there have been 27 deaths among people sprayed in California alone since 1993, although the deaths were not directly linked to the chemical. In particular, it can be fatal for individuals with asthma.

Under the leadership of Paul Wolfowitz, the plans were laid for the attack on New York and Washington D.C., the psychological attack on the American people, and the diversion of billions of dollars from the American people to the defense industry, under the capable leadership of Halliburton (Cheney), Bechtel, etc. The group was called the Project for a New American Century. PNAC's ideology can be found in a White Paper produced in September of 2000 entitled "Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century." In it, PNAC outlines what is required of America to create the global empire they envision.

Their plans are outlined in a document entitled, "Rebuilding America's Defenses", which has since been removed from the PNAC website. The plan shows Bush's cabinet intended to take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power. It says: 'The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.'

The PNAC document supports a 'blueprint for maintaining global US pre-eminence, precluding the rise of a great power rival, and shaping the international security order in line with American principles and interests'. This 'American grand strategy' must be advanced for 'as far into the future as possible', the report says. It also calls for the US to 'fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars' as a 'core mission'. PNAC members include: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Jeb Bush, Dan Quayle, and Lewis Libby.

Shocking Report On US Military Deaths in Iraq

As of this morning, the "official" number of U.S. military deaths in Iraq is 4,255. That is a lie. They have cleverly covered up the TOTAL number of deaths in Iraq since George H.W. Bush invaded that country in 1991. This is not some number found in an Aljazeera publication, it is from the Department of Veterans Affairs Gulf War Veterans Information System, May 2007. I hope you are seated.

Here are the facts and a link to the government source to prove these facts:

More Gulf War Veterans have died than Vietnam Veterans.

Total U.S. Military Gulf War Deaths: 73,846

- Deaths amongst Deployed: 17,847

- Deaths amongst Non-Deployed: 55,999

Total "Undiagnosed Illness" (UDX) claims: 14,874

Total number of disability claims filed: 1,620,906

- Disability Claims amongst Deployed: 407,911

- Disability Claims amongst Non-Deployed: 1,212,995

Percentage of combat troops that have filed Disability Claims 36%

Soldiers, by nature, typically don't complain. In other words, the real impact of those who are disabled from the US invasions in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Nations, is not fully reflected in the official Veterans Affairs numbers. When soldiers are sent to murder women and children they tend to never be able to live normal lives thereafter.

How come the government numbers are so low? Where is the media coverage? The answer is simple, the government does not want the 73,000 dead to be compared to the 55,000 U.S. soldiers killed in Vietnam. Iraq = Vietnam. What the government is doing is only counting the soldiers that die in action before they can get them into a helicopter or ambulance. Any soldier who is shot but they get into a helicopter before he dies is not counted.

This is what was behind the secrecy of the deaths of US soldiers (not allowing photos of the coffins), returned from Iraq-which had nothing to do with privacy and everything to do with preventing US media from counting bodies. 73,000 dead amongst the U.S. soldiers for this scale operation using weapons of mass destruction is not high - we expect the great majority of U.S. soldiers who took part in the invasion of Iraq to die of uranium poisoning, which can take decades to kill.

More than 1,820 tons of radio active nuclear waste uranium were exploded into Iraq alone in the form of armor piercing rounds and bunker busters, representing the world's worst man made ecological disaster ever. 64 kg of uranium were used in the Hiroshima bomb. The U.S. Iraq Nuclear Holocaust represents far more than fourteen thousand (14,000) Hiroshima's. The nuclear waste the U.S. has exploded into the Middle East will continue killing for billions of years and can wipe out more than a third of life on earth. Gulf War Veterans who have ingested the uranium will continue to die off over a number of years.

What crime did the 6 to 7 million people in Iraq commit to deserve what happened to them? Their only real crime was to live in the nation that was theirs until Bush 41 decided to take it over, back in 1991.

So far more than one million people have been slaughtered in the illegal invasion of Iraqi by the U.S. Birth defects are up 600% in Iraq - the same will apply to U.S. Veterans. Statistics and evidence published by the government and mainstream media in no way reflect the extreme gravity of the situation. Those working for the government and media must wake up and take responsibility for immediately reversing this U.S. Holocaust. Understanding who is manipulating all of us is critical for all of us.

What will be the reaction when the families and friends of the over 73,000 US dead in Iraq from 1991 to the present, along with the relatives and the victims of the additional 1,620,906 that were injured by this same policy of secrecy & lies, ­ learn that the survivors and the relatives of the dead actually lost their loved ones to a system that was not even American: because the US Military is now a wholly owned subsidiary of USA Incorporated. Officially, under George W. Bush, the United States military ceased to exist because he made everyone in a US uniform into an employee of that illegal corporation that has become the government that rules over the United States of America.

PTSD is not the major killer of combat veterans that it appeared to be: at least it won't be, once those millions of troops figure out who it was that they have lost body-parts for, not to mention the possibility of normal life. This act by the Dictator was Treason on a grand scale-and to date, no one has called for him to pay the price for this massive sell-out of the American public, but especially of the millions of US military personnel, that he and his owners used and abused so thoroughly.

George Walker Bush has presided over the worst deliberately skewed reporting of the deaths and injuries to conceal the facts. The Department of Veteran's Affairs, in conjunction with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has released the truth because they need the American People to know our military is literally, destroyed. They cannot release these horrific numbers via the chain of command because they are under orders to conceal the truth at all costs, so they let slip a report which now cannot be "un-slipped."

This story is 100% accurate. 100% true. 100% verifiable. The Bush Crime Family is guilty of mass murder and should be tried for treason and war crimes. In addition, they have not only weakened but virtually decimated our military. Is it any wonder that President Obama has made it one of his first priorities to "rebuild" our military?

Will War Ever End? Ask the U.S.

I read an interesting article in the OpEdNews today entitled "Will War Ever End?" in which the author is critiquing the works of another whose main argument is that war is inevitable due to "human nature". Interesting argument, but one I cannot fully agree with. The United States has 761 military bases scattered over the world that house over 2.5 million military personnel. Our #1 industry in this country is war or war-related materials. We sell weaponry and planes to countries all over the world.

President Eisenhower warned the American people about the way our world was headed and to be aware of the "military-industrial complex". There was a documentary made in 2005 by Eugene Jarecki, entitled, "Why We Fight", which describes the rise and maintenance of the United States military-industrial complex and its 50-year involvement with the wars led by the United States to date, especially its 2003 Invasion of Iraq. The documentary asserts that in every decade since World War II, the American public was told a lie, so that the Government (incumbent Administration) could take them to war and fuel the military-industrial economy maintaining American political dominance in the world. Interviewed about this matter, are politician John McCain, political scientist and former-CIA analyst Chalmers Johnson, politician Richard Perle, reporter William Kristol, writer Gore Vidal, and public policy expert Joseph Cirincione, and many more.

"Why We Fight" was first screened at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival on 17 January 2005, 44 years after President Dwight D. Eisenhower's farewell address. It won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary, however, it received a limited public cinema release. This documentary will open your eyes like never before and makes you realize that our nation's adventures into war are no accident. It's all about money. Very sad.

As Americans rejoice at the departure of whom many consider to be the worst President in history, George W.
